What is this?

I was out with metal detector searching around an old hand dug well. I found this about 6 inches in the ground. It is made of brass and is hollow. Also has male threads and the metal is very thin. I have seen something like this before but it was a dust cap for a spindle hub.

It's a type of pie cap for water pipe. Probably for 1 1/4".

Is it a radiator cap for a Ford Model T? The hole in the top of mine has been punched thru or drilled out by someone.

Some of those old cars had whistles/radiator alarms, possibly the reason for the hole.

Some had a thermometer sticking up out of them. My friends Model A has one.
