I was going to build a tailgate extender because of how much I hate the tailgate of my Ranger but this might be a better option overall.

What is the weight of the bed? Can you tell any difference in the way it rides or drives?

I’m guessing around 225lbs. Can’t tell any difference in the ride. I almost always have feed or something in the bed anyway.
