Baby bunnies

Last weekend while I was weedeating around the fence I notice the clump of grass moving. I investigated the movement and found some baby bunnies. They didn't even have any hair yet.

I quickly covered them up again and put my quad pod platform over the nest. My dogs would find them and you know the rest.

I have been watching them all week and they are opening their eyes and momma visits them daily.

My dog found four of them once but just brought them to me. I had no idea where they came from and therefore ended up raising them! They were a lot of fun but man they ate an entire head of romain lettuce everyday!

This happened at my FIL's house. Except we saw this small hole in the yard, and thought it was from the sprinkler system. Me being the investigative type, stuck my hand into the hole....... It is hard to explain to a 88 year old women (wifes grandma) what the words that she just heard meant, without telling the truth. Needless to say I did not expect to feel fur and movement. We got to watch 4 cottontails grow into bunnies after that. It was fun once we knew it was there.
