I think almost every announcer annoys somebody. It can be a little hard to take the ones that let their bias show, but then we all have some kind of bias don't we.

I don't pay a lot of attention to announcers so none really annoy me, but have you all heard Booger McFarland announce?

He's kinda the opposite of Joe Buck - played the game, but how anybody thought that giving him a job where speaking is involved is beyond me.

But hey, good for him. He has certainly overachieved!

I've never been a fan of Joe Buck, especially when it comes to baseball. I'm like few others, I turn the volume down when watching a baseball game. Joe is OK for football, and no one, absolutely NO ONE is worse than Booger McFarland on MNF. Jason Witten wasn't very good, but Booger is unwatchable.

I don't really mind him. I think he does a pretty good job. Everyone talking about him pointing out that he kept saying Soto is 21. He should keep reminding folks. A 21 year old kid playing at the highest level and on the biggest stage, and playing extremely well.

I hear a lot of hate because "he only got that job because of his dad". Well, me too! but I've busted my butt over the last 15 years to elevate my skills and become top hand in. That is exactly what Joe Buck has done.

If anything, I don't like him only because he has my dream job!

You nailed it with your first sentence ... I mean we hunters canít make everybody happy on a 10 person deer lease. Can you imagine the trying to keep 10 million biased fans happy and not annoyed.

Ironically imo with your second sentence you have the reason most get annoyed. Their own bias not the announcers.

And then there are always the folks that are looking for something to be annoyed about. They are never happy.

He has gotten much better. That said, he should stick to football. I know he probably prefers baseball, but there is too much dead air during a baseball game that he thinks he needs to fill by constantly talking. Football is perfect for him.

When a 21 year old, you despise because of his antics is kicking your *** and Joe Buck keeps reminding you of that all 7 games, fans tend to get annoyed.

Nobody loves any play by play or color guy when you are losing. Some just have better annoyance control than others..

It's his tone of voice that makes people from both teams despise him. He can say the Astros are great, and it would still annoy most just because it has major ****** bag all over it. Easier to pick out his mistakes when the way he sounds makes you want him to fail. Listened to a lot of the post season games driving home from work on ESPN radio and those guys are great.

That would be wise of them. Astros didn’t win, It’s not his fault. Soto got on my nerves too but he went deep off every body because the astros refused to throw at him or pitch around him. That’s not Joes fault. It was a great series, shouldn’t be turned into joe sucks.

This is true. I am shocked when I occasionally hear someone bag on Eric Nadel. He's in the broadcast wing at the HOF in Cooperstown - been doing Ranger's games for 40 years and is the consummate professional IMO. Just goes to show you can't please everybody....

I don't recall ever hearing that Vin Sculley was a former player, and Joe's dad wasn't either, nor Harry Caray. I can take him or leave him though. And, the worst announcer I have ever tried to tolerate is a former player---Tim McCarver, Mr. know-it-all.

I'll be straight up honest.

I love hating Joe Buck. I don't mute him because I love to have somebody to yell at rather than the players that I unrealistically expected more out of.

I want to yell "Stop chasing those **** sliders Correa!!!" but instead I get to chill and say "shut the hell up Buck... you are about to learn that Springer is a FAST ball hitter and so all this Corbin throws unhittable fastballs diatribe is about to make you look like an idiot"... and when Springer went yard, like we all knew he was going to... you hate Buck even more because you can call an Astros game better than he can... because you know Blummer would have said "oh here we go!"

So yeah, I like Joe Buck because he makes me feel smarter than I really am about sports.

And the TBS announcers... oh my good lord... I watched a few Nats/Cards games because I figured I might as well get to know who we'd be playing a little better... Those announcers were terrible... so... flat... Just wanted to fall asleep... no energy. Those games were painful to follow. I would have traded in Joe for those guys... Although, I really didn't need to now how old Juan was that early in the post season...
