While filling feeders yesterday, I came across a dead yearling doe about 15 yards from the feeder. She hadn't been dead long as there was no smell and she was still very pliable. I checked the camera and it had caught nothing but the normal activity.

Any ideas?

Go find her stomach contents and look for a struggle. Something caught her.

If there is not enough water near by and they gorge themselves on that cotton seed, the expansion difficulties I have heard about, could suffacate them.

Nearby as with in how many yards?

I'm thinking about feeding cotton seed and the water supply is 100 yards away.
