I use the "superglue" method followed by a few coats of oil.
For those of you who use super glue or epoxy, how do you go about putting it on evenly? Sorry for all the questions, these are only the 4th and 5th knives I've made!
Zipkicker is an accelerant. Makes the glue set up in just a few seconds. You can also dust the wet glue with baking soda and it will set up immediately. Then just sand it until there are no shiny spots and repeat as necessary then buff.
I'll use a light coat of CA even on stabilized wood sometimes depending on the wood type.
This one had a light coat.

That knife is very nice!! What is CA? I'm very new to making knives so I hope you don't mind the questions!

Quick question again, when you buff, what do you use? A clean wheel? Or the same one you use for blades? Any rouge?
I buff the scales with a soft cotton wheel on the buffer, it's not the same one used on blades.I used the brown rouge on wood scales. On bone, antler or the man made materials I use the blue rouge. You can get either at hardware stores or Harbor Freight.
