Wanting to provide a challenge that is fun, with zero intimidation factor. By that I mean virtually any level shooter can compete to WIN this week. Just need a standard 9-inch paper plate.
Setup is to draw an 8-section "pizza"-type pattern on the back (bottom or table side of the plate). Add a one-inch circle in the middle of the pattern. Now number the wedges thus: 1,8,2,7,3,6,4,5 around the plate. Stick a single nail or pin through the center of the plate from the front (food side) of the plate to attach it to your backstop. Give the plate a spin and go back to 11 yards to shoot three arrows from a sitting or kneeling stance (one or two knees).
Note that you will be shooting at the BLANK side of the plate. After shooting the shots, take a picture, then pull the arrows and take a pic of the backside, which will have the score. It will be a surprise, and anyone can score well or not so well.
The one-inch circle is a no-go zone, with a value of only "1", if the majority of an arrow is in the circle. Missing the whole plate (touching is not missing) is a deduction of 3 points. Other than that, just add up your points, taking the higher value for any arrow touching or cutting a line. Three days' tries at this. Have fun.
Winner will have the highest single day score.
