                I would bet that isn't a bullet wound. I'm thinking he was full sprint and found a fence. I've seen pen deer do that and rip their lower lip/jaw identical to that. Had to sew it up and he healed fine

                  I had one like that on my camera from public land. He came in one night but he seemed fine and I let him walk. They are tuff animals.

                    Not a good picture but this guy was dragging both hooves behind him and was getting around on pegs. Had one beam broke off too. He was eating and drinking water so I ended up letting him go. I bet the coyotes weren't as sympathetic...
