"Official" Davy Crockett National Forest hunt thread 13-14

Alright guys! It's right around the corner. Lets all get to sharing our techniques and other tips and tricks. If there is already a thread for this, delete this one. Skimming thru the SHNF thread got me thinking how cool it would be to have one for DCNF.

I hunt the DCNF exclusively every year. I'm going to be running 3 cams this year and will be posting pics here. I'm going up in a week or two to complete the cabin. We own 14ac surrounded by the national forest. We don't hunt on the private land. We just use it to camp and a feeder for the girls and kids to see deer.

If anyone has been up and done any scouting, lets here about it!!

Yup, my family hunts private land that is adjacent to several parts of the dcnf. Just got my cam out recently and have a few bucks coming around. Going up in two weekends to finish prepping for the season. Txhunter77 hunts private land adjacent to the dcnf up there too. Looks like us 3 are all from the Tomball area and hunt around the same area.

I been doing alittle looking around myself. Hunt the same ol areas so just checking things you could say. Lots of fawns this yr it seems like. And the horns are going to be good from the looks of things. We had some good rains at the right time this yr. Im ready!

Saw a monster on the highline near brushy lake 2-3 years ago while we were duck hunting....one of you boys needs to go find that sucker!

I took a small 8pt out of there after 4 years of serious hunting. One of the bucks Im most proud of.
Can't wait to see some GC pic's. I need to post a picture of the one I took. Great thread.
