My grandmother owns some property in central Texas and she sold off her cattle a few years ago. I was wondering if I planted ten or so acres of oats would the duck or goose hunting be any good? In the past there have been oats on the property but I have never seen any waterfowl in the fields.

what is the water like on your place and around it? total acres of your place and water available is what i am getting at. Ducks like water. -
I doubt it would make any substantial difference with the geese unless there are larger fields around you holding birds. If you flood it, and it is in a flight path, you might pull some ducks down, but that would be it. Are there bodies of water around the land? If so, you might be able to pull some ducks off of those if they are using them as roost ponds.Comment
