I saw a wolf last year while we were out. The locals told me that if you saw a wolf, the elk were not around.

Where did your $31 come from? I thought it was $40 per species or if doing more than one, you could buy a non-resident license which is $56. Plus you have to buy the stamps?

Or did you just apply for the points, and aren't taking into account the $40 fees that will come draw time?

Its $13 for applying, and you have to pay $40 if only going for the point. Otherwise if you purchase some sort of license from Colorado, whether it be small game, camping, fishing, the $40 is waived.

I believe it has to be “last years” license to waive the fee. Good news is that you can still grab a fishing license that is good through March 31 and is “last years.”

            My Colorado application was $28

            10$ for the habitat stamp
            3$ for deer points
            3$ for elk points
            3$ for goat app
            3$ for sheep app
            3$ for moose point
            3$ for antelope point

Gotcha, Mine was $85 since I did not have a license last year.

                $56 for 2017-2018 fishing license
                $3 Deer points
                $3 Antelope
                $3 Elk points
                $10 Stamp with license
                $10 Stamp for points

Cheaper than the $120 it would have been paying the $40 fees

If my research was right, this was the cheapest way to go when only buying points without having had a license last year.

That's what mine cost but I did Sheep/Moose/Goat/Bear also, so $97?

I need to hurry up and win Sheep before all the new kids get in the drawing lol...

Question for those of you that have applied for Montana in the past. If Im reading correctly I can buy a preference point from July 1st - Sept 30th correct? Not planning on applying/hunting there for at least a few more years. Just want to start gaining some points.

That's my understanding. Kind of like Wyoming.

1.1 miles uphill, then back down with 22 pounds. I know why guys my age sit in boats and fish.

That's correct. You can buy both preference and bonus points for Montana during that period.

                              NM application is in.

                              Elk
                              Sheep
                              Ibex
                              Mule Deer
                              Antelope

At least they only keep my money for a month.

                                Colorado too now

Points for everything except Desert Bighorn and deer. Hunting deer for sure this year in Colorado.

                                AZ - done
                                WY - done
                                UT - done
                                NM - done
                                CO - done
NV - not due for another few weeks
ID - a month or so out
MT - a month or so out

I hate waiting for draw results.
