Got some cool pics from the last few weeks. Date is off on the camera. Not much deer activity this time. Probably terrifed of the noise from the invaders.

Angry Birds?

Looking good Bobby.

Looks like you need to add a small pull behind trailer for chore duty with the four wheeler.
Great four wheeler too BTW, I always liked that model.

Nice place Bobby, need to do some thinning out on those dogs though. I miss our getaway in Livingston we used to have. It was so Nice to get out of H-town and spend weekends in the woods. Congrats on your little piece of heaven.

Other than frying the power converter on my camper with 220v of accidental juice, had a good weekend.

Wife's little garden is ready to plant.

Had a bunch of deer tracks up near camp.

Got a big hog on feeder...

I got my pond/tank area picked out. Gonna have a pump in the wood line hard wired and hard piped from the creek. Use a timer system to keep the tank full of nice fresh water.

My wild rabbit crop is growing well. Counted 6 around camp.

And the highlight of the trip was my son and DIL visiting with my best friend, Jake Jr. We had a large time walking the property, eating pine cones, putting our hands in the creek, and riding the 4wheeler.

Mamma said he was asleep right after they hit the blacktop.

We had some fallow deer burgers and hotdogs on the pit.

Soak it up folks. Our life on this place is a fleeting moment.

If I may add from very cold and snowy Michigan. God bless you on your fight and beating cancer there "jarhead".

My wife and I travel to the SW from Michigan during the winter months ( Had to stop for two years as my wife went back to work for health insurance). We love to visit New Mexico and Texas. We stay in New Mexico for two months to roam the desert and hunt for flint knapping rock and arrowheads and spend l month in Texas, just north of San Antonio. My marine buddy took a head shot in Viet Nam and it left him paralyzed on his right side and lives in Bulverde, Texas. We hang out and do some shooting. He shoots and wins many matches in the disabled division. He was also Safari Club Internationals disabled hunter of the year a few years back.. His sniper training has paid off.

He had gotten me on a couple of ranches to look for rock. Texas is a beautiful state and we really enjoy our visits.

I really like your camp and what you have done to it. Keep up the good work and stay strong.

Semper Fi (67-69)

Jon

Thanks John. I really appreciate your comments more than you know. My dad left a lot of himself in Viet Nam. He would have loved this place and it kills me that he can't see it and be here to enjoy it.

Thanks Chew. Frame for the swing doesn't look all that difficult. May have to wing it and see what I can come up with. Already have a swing that is just sitting idle waiting on something like this.

Google "wooden glider plans" There are some free and some that cost $$. Or search www.images.google.com for wooden gliders and you can see how they are built.

Good luck!

Im sure you're aware but dont go shopping for an "RV" microwave. Slapping those two letters in front will double the money. Wallymarshall should have one close to the size

Default KCA Ranch. A Work in Progress.

Had a Good Friday and Saturday at KCA. got the power restored thanks to amazon.com, YouTube, and TBHer Carey Birdwell:

Then I hung up some LED rope lighting and a floodlight to illuminate the parking area and walkway to the well house/shed. No pics.

Then I shot at a few crows, drank a few cervezas, and talked to two different neighbors that are gonna be great for when the zombies come after the Lonestar cards get shut off.

Had my first few deer check out the feeder. One dropped both antlers and the other had one:

Wife started getting sick Saturday morning so we started packing up and headed home.

The guy I hired to build my two awnings has been tied up so no progress on that or the deck underneath the big awning.

Did a bunch of work on the well house. My wife calls it "Town Hall" because we have been hanging out there a bunch.

Put in a fridge and window AC unit. Got some plumbing done to keep momma happy. She wanted a utility sink. Had to put in a drain and then me and a buddy dug a 35' trench (it wasn't real straight). Had to throw down some infamous pea gravel and some perforated PVC. So now we are set up to add a washer and dryer to town hall.

Also put in a window unit in the small cabin for our guests.

Got a feeder filled and had a few deer on camera but not much. Had a lot of rain today and left a little early.

Pics to follow.

Came through the wall with the utility sink drain and tied in to the existing washing machine drain.

Forgot to get a pic of the finished drain line. We slapped on a short extension from the existing drain then added a 45 fitting and about 35' of PVC on a bed of pea gravel.

Turned out nice.

So does the grey water just drain onto the ground at the end of the PVC or do you have holes drilled into it so it drains into the pea gravel? I'm looking to do something similar at the lease.

Everything looks great!

The pipe has holes facing down towards the gravel. Then there's a hole at the end that's about 18" deep and 2' in circumference with more gravel.

Thanks folks. Really satisfying to be working out there. Don't want to do anything at the boring old house now.

Chew, I've still peeking in on ya. Nothing like seeing it all come together for you and the family .

You might as well take that feeder down now, since you got the pea gravel right behind the cab-n .
