Not only do I take the back roads but......
I stop and read the historical markers!

and At my age I stop the second time through to read the historical marker again, because I forgot what it said from the last trip.

When I am on back country roads, I find myself doing this sometimes too

I am never traveling when I am not in a hurry. Garmin GPS stays on fastest including toll roads. I could care less what kind of road it is if it can get me there quicker.

In Arkansas we’re usually stuck with the “scenic route”. That being said, I like to get where I’m going.

To me, a “back road” means our usual crappy two lane or gravel and constantly watching for deer Oct-January. I’ll pass on that & the deductible, whenever possible.

Where I'm from it's not how many miles or how many minutes it will take. It's a matter of beers...
