    Camp Fire Cooker

I am new to the site. I have been viewing for a while and I like to watch the projects being constructed here on the D-I-Y. I enjoy building my own stuff as well. I thought I'd share this camp fire cooker that I built for our place.

Nice job. You know it's a serious cooker if it needs skids.

My uncle had an old propane tank. I cut the end off of it to make the pot.

I like that. I've been thinking about rounding up a piece of 24" pipe and building one similar to this with a grill that swings off the fire.....

            Very nice.

Thats the first thing I noticed. Its a great idea though, makes it alot easier to get around.

                Nice work

nice, like the skids as well.

see my current avatar for ours in action.

we just have a loose grate we throw on top so it is out of the way on those cold mornings when you really want to stand on top of the fire.

I would like to have one of those to have a outdoor fireplace.

I've got a neighbor with a tank sitting out by the road. I haven't had a chance to go ask if he's trying to get rid of it or just waiting for the propane co to pick it up. I'd love to do the same thing.

You can get those end caps at Trinity Industries in Navasota.Anywhere from 12" at least 48" # 936-825-6581 They work very well
