Lake Buchanan Personal Best

Got out on the lake for a few days and it was pretty slow all around, except for the second morning. We caught our personal best blue cat for this lake on a jug line. He drug it, weight and all, about 100 yards and had it stuck in a tree. We had to use the boat and my handy dandy Cedar stay piece to torque the weight out of the tree in 30 ft of water. The fish weighed 30 lbs 5 oz and we had another big fish come off while we were pulling it up. The second fish was keeping the jug under water for up to five minutes at a time and was apparently barely hooked. I will be upgrading my jugs for better buoyancy on future trips!

For Jug, get you some 4 or 6 inch PVC pipe and some end caps with a eye bolt on one end.
That is what my BIL uses and it would take a big fish to pull that under.
