    Wildlife waterer question

I am going to build a wildlife waterer utilizing rain waterer at our place in south Texas. My question is what size do y'all recommend building a roof to catch rain and what size of the water bowl for best result?

You can google wildlife guzzler apron sizes and find different dimensions and conversions for how much rain you want to collect based on average rainfall. Think about how many animals you want to support if no rain occurs and how big of a storage tank you will have. Wildlife don't need a cattle trough sized trough to drink from. Small surface area reduces evaporation and shallow is good for small critters to get access or an escape ramp if you go bigger. I'd say a 300 gallon "coke tank" with an 8x8 or 10x10 apron to catch is good. Whatever size tin you can find and not have to cut helps.

Coachwhip built one and posted here a few years back that is excellent in my opinion.
