Default 150Ē 8 point value.

Letís start by saying this is a high fence deer. I donít care to hear what you think about highfence hunting. Iím just looking for advice. So say I ranch I work on grows a really nice 150+ clean 8 point and heís 7 years old. They have decide they want to let someone shoot him. What would this deer be worth. Just looking for some advice other than what I think. Thanks for any help. Hopefully this doesnít stir up the hatters.

It varies..
I know of a place that I can shoot one for $2,500 and a place I can shoot one for $4,000 and I'm sure someone with deep pockets would pay considerably more..
Price it and it will sell.

Depending on the amenities I canít imagine it would bring less than $3k on up to over $5k.

We have 3000$ in mind that would include two nights lodging no meals. Fully guided. So I guess that’s fair enough. This deer is on 120 acres. Would that change the value? Or not

$3k is a reasonable price though.

Are you paying to hunt him or just to shoot him? 120 high fence acres and the deer doesnít have much room to hide.

Youíd be surprised, I know of plenty of smaller high fence places that you still gotta work to find them in the area without much room to ďhideĒ

All depends on the layout and woods/pasture percentage. Iíve got a big axis on 116 acres (40 woods, 27 lake and 49 pasture) that I havenít seen in person in 4 wks. He is on cam and I am here daily.

150” clean 8 pt is a **** nice deer. 100 acre HF lowers his value I’m guessing. But they’ll be someone out there that will give $3-4K for him

I paid $6,000 for an 8 that we assumed was high 150ís..... We had a gentlemenís agreement that price wouldnít change whether he was bigger or smaller. It just so happened he ended up at 167 5/8Ē. Itís all in how much you like the deer. When I was looking for mine to hunt, I ran across some ugly, lopsided deer for close to the same money.

Most ranches will price him as a 150 class trophy! Not as a 8 point. 4500 would be pretty easy to get.

I sold one for 1750. No lodging. Took a morning hunt and done. 3k is a good
Price with lodging. Amenities and experience add to the value of the animal. I am pretty sure I know which place you are at and y’all may be able to add another big deer and get more with a package.

I wasn't going to say anything until I saw the 120 acre part. So let me get this straight, this deer is on a 120 acre high fenced place? That's like shooting deer in a pen. I can't grasp how this is legal or even sporty for a hunter....smfh !!!! disgusting

On a small place like that coming to a feeder like clockwork. That sounds perfect for someone from the city that does not want to hunt, just shoot. I would price him way high and advertise in Houston, SA and Dallas/Ft. Worth.

I hunt on a LF place but get to visit many HF ranches around our lease to socialize and whatnot, to get a clean 8 over 150 is a big deal. We have had several close but only 1, maybe two over. In the hill country we just do not have the same mass that can be found down south. 8 Point deer of any size count as a cull on my current lease but man I do love a clean 8 point of that size, just majestic animals!
