The project is underway. What is the best means of cutting 1/3" thick steel/graphite? I don't want to use anything mechanical hence the nature of the wires. So what type of saw do I need to chop through some serious metal???

Why not disconnect the wires from the head, pull them through the shaft and get them out of the way so you can cut it with a jig saw, sawzall or hacksaw?

Agreed......a pipe cutter works well on the steel shafts. I would imagine though, some sort of high speed cutter will be required for the graphite shafts.
