I bought a new Remington 700 in 30-06 a month ago. It’s the long range model (similar to the Sendero in weight). The plan is to use it for my place in east tx (there is no lugging this beast through mountains)! I would like to put a new scope on her. I want to drop what I shoot at in its tracks (my color blindness makes blood tracking nearly impossible). I hunt over some bigger fields, but most my shots will be in that 100 to 200 yard range. I like 50mm objective lense for light gathering abilities. Thoughts on magnification and brands?

I've been a fan of the Nikon Pro-staff scopes, but after getting my Vortex binoculars I think on my next rifle I'm going to give them a try.

Or one more step up and look at the VX-5HD 3-15x. It only comes in 44mm, but honestly, you don’t need a 50mm if you get good glass. Both of these are < $1000. Not sure what the budget isLast edited by Anvilheadtexas; 03-22-2018, 09:17 PM.
