Finally got to get out again today.

Today's half day hunt.
From about 12:30 to dark.

Saw 15 deer. 11 buck, and 4 doe.
Only one shooter buck among them. He was chasing a doe, and never got close enough for me to shoot. 8 of those bucks were yearling 4 point. Never seen so many young 4 pointers in the same place at the same time.

Over 100 turkey. Coulda shot, but naa, I waited for deer.
2 very large covey of bobwhites.

Only 2 pigs. Something had them spooked, and they were headed for cover. Ran by me about 100 yards away.

1 coyote, close, but no shot opportunity.
1 bobcat, close, but no shot opportunity.

A good day regardless of no shots taken.

I too enjoy seeing all the different wildlife that live around me. Great hunt for sure.

The temps were above freezing (mid to upper 40's) for the first time in several days, but the wind was howling. I was surprised to see so much movement in that wind.

That was a great hunt. I figure that the critters know a good cold spell is coming and they are out getting groceries while the weather is good.

Rick,I would have to have put an arrow in a turkey. That's one thing that has eluded me since the movement into traditional archery. We saw a LOT of young bucks last week as well. One decent deer came through and was happy to have gotten to see him. The end of the season looks the be down right chilly, hope the best for you.

I went Yesterday saw 6 illegal Popup Blinds, 3 illegal Ladder Stands, 5 Illegal Feeders, One Squirrel, Zero Deer. Gotta love the Public Hunting Land. But Hey I did go hunting

Going to hunt (for deer) as much as I can the last three days.

Then it'll be game on for the pigs.
