I will be going tonight and wanted to start a new thread so nothing is ruined for those who haven't seen it yet. Let us know what you thought of the movie. Any opinions, discussion, etc.. I'm taking my extended family tonight. I can't wait.

I'm not much of a reviewer, but, I thought this one was much better than the previous Star Wars flick. Great effects and sound, what else do you want to know.

BTW, saw it last night.

IMDB only has it as a 8.1/10 which is surprising for the first day.

Was hoping to see it starting around a 9 with all the lifers and big time fans seeing it first and then trickle down as casual fans see it as most bigger movies do

I did not like the movie. The series has lost its mojo. This was my least favorite of the last 3 movies released. Luke was turned in to a weenie. Plot was trying to hard. Snoke was a big disappointment. He was supposed to be all powerful and went out like low level associate. Not a Supreme Leader/Sith Lord. Now you have 2 people with force knowledge and no masters to train them. Yoda was a nice surprise.

We rented out a theater and had a customer event last night for it (pre-release screening). There were some slow parts to the movie and some great action as you would expect. There are a couple times you could tell they were trying to be funny and get the audience to laugh that didn't seem natural. The scene with the giant land cannon has a pretty good laugh.
