That’s good to hear, planning on rattling a little for my son this coming weekend. Weather looks more tolerable at least!

Good luck! If they act anything like last weekend you may not be able to have them charging in from a distance, but if you land in an area and they are near by it seems like they are interested enough to come check out what all the commotion is about. I'll be back at it again this weekend, and will probably try rattling again.

What is everyone seeing? Things were really slow this morning for us. The front has hit and the wind is blowing hard!

This morning was slow. Saw a bobcat and one small buck. The wind sure is making is miserable even at camp. Hope it calms down a little for this evening. Had a buck grunting and pushing a doe opening weekend. Anybody seeing any rutting activity? Is it over?

Saw about 30 something turkey this morning and a group of 8 does. Nothing was chasing them they did not look nervous till the wind hit. Hunting in the Jim Ned creek bottoms tonight jumped a couple of does walking in at 3:30. Hoping they are down here in the bottoms out of the wind.

It’s been a strange rut for sure! I’m thinking most of the bigger deer are locked down with does.

Another slow morning here, but I’m hoping they’ll move this evening with the rising barometric pressure.

Slow weekend for us as well. My brother shot a stud with his rifle Saturday afternoon. But that’s about it as far as movement.
