    Fun on the bandsaw...

Decided to do a little resawing today. Had a old cedar post, a hickory and pecan log needing to be made into lumber. Also a piece of oak that I cut last year.

Now I just need some project ideas. Thinking I can make enough cedar to line my safe room walls.

This is pecan. Cut 4/4 and 8/4

This is hickory cut 8/4+ A piece of 2x6 for comparison.
It came from part of a tree that fell on my house a few years ago. Has a little spalting in it.

This is the result of some cedar post that have been stacked in a pile for a little over 40 years. Left some live edge for some cool stuff.

Last but not least is some oak. I have alot of this and wanting it for cabinets but it's at 11% which is about the same as the other wood cut.

This thread is worthless without some pictures of the SAW!

Must be a honkin' big one for sure. I have trouble with 2X4 stock on mine.

Great looking wood! Pecan has always been a favorite of mine. I agree with the previous poster about the bandsaw pictures.

11% shouldn't be far off from your EMC, at least here on the coast it wouldn't be

I have 2 large chunks (about 19' x 20 thick) of oak at the mill now. I hope it looks like that oak slab

              It's a good size saw. 21" 5HP. Running an 1 1/4" 1.3tpi blade
              This thing devours wood!

Going to try resawing some more oak I cut last year for small projects today.
