^^ I agree. I have Talley rings on all my rifles.

I’ve had the LW on a Tikki 308 for years. Never had a problem.

Talley is good to go. It’s funny that some folks will claim cheap vortex scopes and cheap rifles are great then say Talley sucks. LOL.

I had a talley lightweight aluminum ring break on me. I'm done with them. I posted a picture on here some time ago.

It just snapped in half from the recoil of a 30/06. Was checking the gun before a hunt. Put me in a bad spot.

have installed talley on all my rifles (also on most of my hunting buddys) never had a problem and their customer service has been outstanding also its in-lbs not ft-lbs on the the tighting on the rings

Curious, what do you consider first tier?

                      I'd say there's 4 tiers:

tier 1: really well machined and innovative design
tier 2: well machined and or somewhat innovative design
tier 3: standard machining, nothing fancy, but serviceable
                      tier 4: ****e

Performance-wise, tier 1-3 should all perform similarly if lapped. Tier 4 is garbage I wouldn't put on an air rifle.

so I'd rate the few I either own or have played with like this:

tier 1: Spuhr, ARC, and bobro (more of a 1.5)
tier 2: seekins, badger, larue, ADM
tier 3: talley, vortex, nightforce, leupold
tier 4: chinese crap you find on ebay

                      But that's just my opinion.

I have the complete ring and base units on a Remington Model 7 in 300SAUM (300WSM) with about 600 rounds through it and have never had an issue.
