My wife asked me to do this a few years ago so I got right to it as usual. All from just plane old 2x4s and 2x6s. I glued and screwed the 2x6 together using pocket screws, then packed the seams with bark wood putty. Sanded it all smooth with my belt sander then urethane it. I made the base out of 2x4 and made it detachable so it could be moved without getting a hernia. She loved it and I get to start on the next project that has been in the planning stages for a few years.
