CWD in Dallam and Hartley counties

Read this earlier and just wanted to share.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has confirmed Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in two white-tailed deer in Dallam and Harltey counties and a mule deer in Hartley County.

Man that stinks, Hartley County is my Home County. I shot my first mule deer, whitetail and pronghorn up there.

I can honestly say I never saw a mule deer anywhere near the size of the one on the report!

Two wild elk tested positive a few years ago from the panhandle.

Dang, I was looking at those two counties for a pronghorn hunt. Reckon I'll be checking with the biologist.

Just go hunt and have it tested. We hunt Wisconsin, had multiple deer test positive for CWD in our county. We just get our deer tested, and good to go. Not hunting will only allow the disease to spread faster.

The mule deer was off of my college roommates place. He called me about it a month ago and said it tested positive on the initial sample and they had to send it in for further testing. Crazy stuff.
