I went west to Deans place this weekend to hunt whitetails on his low fence place and had a blast.
I had taken my grandson back in October and he killed a nice buck with his X-Bow but this trip was for me.
From the first set I was covered up with deer but the bucks were so rutted up they would not let anything settle down under the feeders they were chasing everything off and around.
I had a sweet 9 point that I watched for 2 days running back and forth through the brush but he just would not stop to eat.
The third morning I broke out the muzzle Loader and when He started working a scrape 50 yards from me I busted him with a .69 caliber round ball.
I watched him run off but knew he was hard hit.
30 minutes later a group of does came in and I smacked one with my recurve and watched her fall after a short run.
It was a great morning.
Deans place is top shelf in ever aspect. Lots of animals, great setups and a sweet place to sleep
This was my 8th or 9th year to hunt with him and I have never not had a great time.
