If you could have waited on smacking it, we would have been better able to identify said arachnid. A lack of better footage leads me to loosely agree with wolf spider.

Sorry for the poor picture of a smashed spider. It looked like the size of a silver dollar when it was scampering across the floor. All I wanted to do was kill it. Thanks for the responses!
