Why on earth would the Texans trade Clowney for Zeke??? You guys are not paying attention!

HE WONT SHOW UP TO WORK! Heíd just be on a different team, with a worse line, for the same contract that he wonít play for now! NO ONE is goi g to trade for him!

Unless the other team is willing to pay him what he wants... Iím sure that number would be discussed prior

I seriously doubt Zeke is going to forfeit 250K a game, especially since it looks like they could win some games with what they have on the team now.

I agree 100%. However, I would not be surprised if Jerry decided to make Zeke the highest paid running back in the NFL because it is Jerry's best chance to win a Superbowl. He'll probably also make Dak and Cooper the highest paid at their positions, for the same reason. Then in 3 years the Cowboys won't be able to keep talented players at the other positions. But hey, at least Jerry will go out with a Superbowl ring because of his great GM and ownership decisions. The Boys will then be saddled with the 3 highest paid skilled position players, and mediocre players around them. Then we can go back to being an average 8 and 8 team every year again.

This is probably what will happen. Afterall, Jerrah has more money than he can ever spend and he can't take it with him

I agree. If you literally think of the salary cap as a piece of pie, if you give huge slices (say 35%?) of the pie to 3 guys, the other 50 players have to split up 65% of the pie. And about half the team will only get a single bite of pie. Some of those big old boys won't be happy and will go looking for a bigger slice of pie at another diner.

Yup and the most frustrating part being only one of them has been ranked 1st in their position to even have a right to be the highest paid at their position, and heís arguably the biggest off the field risk. This is a very slippery slope i pray they handle it correctly or this could have a negative ripple effect for yearsssssss to come.

What happened to paying the large signing bonuses to avoid the big salary cap hits?? Is that not allowed anymore?? I lost all interest in keeping up with the salary cap rule a long, long time back...

Correct me if I am wrong:
Zeke wants $16+ million a year?
Dak wants $35+ million a year?
Cooper will get $20+ million a year?

$188 million is the salary cap, right? $188,000,000 minus about $71,000,000 for these 3 players leaves $117,000,000, or 37.8% going to 3 players. They better get a Superbowl this year, or next year. Then prepare for an average team at best.

I think the Cowboys have a sound plan in place, you have not seen them pay stupid money to other free agents in awhile, they will try to keep their own, they are just drafting too well, that is a good problem to have, if they can get good QB play ( I think they will ) this team is going to be very dangerous.

The flaw in their drafting is these flyers Jerry keeps taking. Jaylen Smith is a fantastic player, but they essentially missed 2 cheap years of his, so now you have to pay him already (worth it). Randy Greggory should have been an anchor on the D-line, but he never plays because heís always suspended. 2nd round picks need to be playing for you for 4 years, then you have to let some of them go. Itís not a terrible problem to have...but Jerry has been paying them all, and Iím afraid it will catch up. He payed most of the o-line, and Byron Jones is about to be up. Again, not a horrible problem to have.

I donít think Dak gets 35, and I donít think Zeke gets over 15 either...jmo.

The Jaylon smith pick was a grand slam, he will be a generational linebacker, they stole him, it was a big gamble, as far as Gregory goes i think he will still make an impact, and he too will feel loyalty to Jerry just like Jaylon did. If Dak wants more than 32 then I would make him prove it this year ( if he does then he will cost more, lol ), as far as Zeke goes, he will get close to Gurley money, not sure on the guaranteed part of it, probably a lot of clauses protecting them in case he does something stupid.

I think Emmett held out twice in his first 4 years, also comparing the two Zeke has quite a bit better numbers ( excluding TD's ) for their first 3 years, and Zeke missed 8 games. Plus Smith was on a much better team that did have a pretty good coach. Emmett is a smart business man, he would be doing the same thing as Zeke, but at least he stayed out of trouble and the headlines.

I only remember him holding out in 93 and then losing the first 2 games without him. They tried the Ďyou can plug any back in behind a great offensive lineí approach and it didnít work out. Derrick Lassic didnít cut it just like nobody on the roster this year is going to cut it. Get your azz back Zeke.

Today, I don't see him (Zeke) coming back until after the bye week.

If the Boys are 5-2 or even 6-1, why would he (JJ) move?

Truth is...

Cowboys could have 8 wins after week 11.

Split the remaining games and Dallas is 11-5

Jerry is in the catbird seat.

I think Jerry will let him hold out. If they are winning, it could be a long holdout. If they are losing, he's going to get paid big time to come back.

Zeke is going to *%*{#* up this season for himself and the Cowboys if he doesn't report soon. I understand why he is holding out but he is getting close to losing a season out of his career IMHO. At least that's the approach I would take from the team's side.

Laveon Bell took the ďsit out a seasonĒ route and took a lesser amount than he was requesting from a different team and IIRC less than Pittsburgh would have offered? So he lost a season of salary and took less overall plus had to switch teams ? Sounds like a solid plan Zeke.

I saw that too. I hate that he's not honoring the rookie contract that he signed and is playing until it expires.
I also think this may be the Cowboys best team since the 1995 season, and they have a REAL chance at a Superbowl. Jerry should offer him Todd Gurley's contract plus $1.00. Get him signed and let's win a Superbowl.

(If everything goes perfectly, with no major injuries, Dak has improved his deep ball accuracy and can read defenses now. If Kellen Moore's play calling is less predictable and more inventive. If we improve the red zone touchdown percentages. If we can finally get some defense turnovers. If the kicker can hit field goals from all yardages... and extra points. See, Zeke is all we need to win a Superbowl, get him signed!)

I heard this is the year the Girls make it to the big dance. Jerry has reserved seats at the 50 for all his O line.

I love your enthusiasm.I wish it would come to fruition, but even with Zeke in the lineup;it ain't gonna happen...Too many young talented teams out there now.Just like the boy's were in the 90's..I think the sleeper team in the NFC is the Bears. The AFC is stacked..Deep.
