    Anther recovery for Oakley

Yesterday started off Bad!! I somehow hurt my knee when spraying down for the morning hunt. Hunted anyways.
After I got home I had to turn down 2 calls for tracks because I was having to walk around on crutches.
About 6:30 my brother in law calls and says he shot a doe about 5:20 but only found a little blood and hair at the hit site. After a few questions I decided to take my dog to him and let him try to track the deer. I inspected the hit site and decided he had to of got liver and gut based on the blood and hair. So I gave him a quick tutorial on how to work the dog and what to look for in his body language and reactions.
So he takes off with me following behind as best I could while telling him what to do. After about 200 yrds I can hear my dog going crazy!! I told him we was close and don’t let him go because if the deer wasn’t dead and ran There’s no way we would be able to keep up and didn’t want my dog getting off the property. After another 50 yrds or so of some incredibly thick briars I hear my bro in law let out a yell! “ He Found her”!!
We never saw another single drop of blood after the hit site. Super proud of my dog! He is becoming one hell of a tracker!

Hope you get better soon. Sounds like you have trained your dog well and he has a lot of natural instincts.
