Just under 50 tons.... As it turn off dry and hot, consumption will increase a bit due to the natural foods declining in palatability. A more accurate way to compare would be to ask on a per deer basis....

For example, I estimate approx. 300 adult deer on my property. That would equate to 333 lbs per deer thus far, or 2.22 lbs per deer per day. Which is in line with my expectations and averages.

We just tested a 10 day run and on our bulk feeders they are eating about 67 lbs a day each feeder. That doesn’t count the timed feeders.

3 timed feeders open from 7 am to 7 pm. Going through a ton every 2 1/2 weeks since 1st of year. Did get a little break while we had some rain last month.

The only way this thread works is if you post pounds/acre. If youíre on a lease with others feeding or you feed the whole place, the variables change with each situation.

How many pounds/acre have you fed since Jan 1?

700 acres near Mountain Home; right at 8 tons since Jan 1st; another 2 tons going out this Friday. Feeding Antlermax20. Whitetail and axis hitting it hard, and recently darn goats have taken a liking to it. New fence being built this weekend, stuff is to expensive to feed goats!!

Have not tried cottonseed yet; may have to Try that next year

Anybody know where to get bulk cottonseed near Kerrville?

Just wanted to share a convo I had right before the 4th. got a call from a new customer needing CoonHoods. He had just filled his 1000 lb feeder and that night the coons hit it hard playing and digging it out ... simply because they can... out of the 1000 lbs he filled, he estimated 800 ended up on the ground that night... I know that’s insane but I swear I’m not making it up and I will find out more from him next time we talk perhaps he will have pictures...
have any of you experienced waste from coons of that magnitude?

Just saw this thread and wanted to pitch CoonHoods for consideration.

We have a little waste from coon mostly on our corn feeders, not so much on our protein spouts. The real problem are the few gi normus porkers that can sit back on their haunches and reach the spouts and then shake the ever liven daylights out of the spouts and feed their buddies

The Protien and cottonseed has slowed WAY down over the past two weeks. I assume the deer are getting plenty of groceries from the native browser now that everything looks like a jungle again.

We got 0.6” of rain 10 days ago but they are emptying our two timed protein feeders, which are 1,500lbs, about every 3 weeks right now. Lots of recruitment from the neighbors.

Ours too but we definitely don't look like a jungle. I think some of it has to do with does having fawn at our place.

Good to hear itís not just me. I went to fill feeders yesterday and only got about 100lbs into each feeder. One of first times in awhile I had to take feed back to the barn with me.
