Default Target idea?

Has anyone ever used carpet padding to make a bow target out of?

I have an extra roll from carpeting my house and I was thinking of using it to make a target. I’ve seen the outdoor targets at ranges that look like 1”-2” thick carpet padding. I’ve shot arrows at the end of the roll a few times and I get about 1’ of penetration and it’s super easy to pull the arrow out.

Really just worried about weather and if will hold up okay?
If anyone has any experience using carpet padding, please chime in. Thanks.
