How Long Until A Pig Floats?

Just shot a pig near edge of the tank.

After all his flopping around he end up dead middle on the pond.

He’s a big boar we’ve been after, don’t really want to leave him.

How long until he floats or will I need to do swimming?

Takes 2-3 days maybe 4 with the colder water in a shallow tank. If I knew the water tempature I could tell you. Pigs are similar to humans

Depends on how big the hole is that you put in him.

Well I tried to swim in to get it - too deep and too cold. Guess it’s a waiting game. We have rod and reel here but no lager trebles just small one

                Dang it

How far out? Maybe rig up a grappling-type hook on a rope and throw it out/drag it in until you hook him and get him. If too far, use a small boat to get closer and do the same thing.

                          Nope head shot

Steep bank and he rolled down in to the water.

After all his flopping around he ended up in the dang pond right in the middle

Idk but the water bound to be 55 degrees and when I got to almost where the pig went down I was treading water. So it was at least 5-1/2’ deep minimum where I saw him go down.

I would not risk drowning in cold water for a pig

He will float and if the wind is blowing he will likely drift right up to the bank

If you have trebles and some weights you can probably drag him up shallow with 10# line if you don't get crazy and try to horse (hog) him in
