    Medals display rack

My friend contacted me to see if I could make a display hanger for his wife's running medals, said she had a whole drawer full of them.
I'm always up for a little challenge.

First thing I did was to glue up to boards, one walnut, one maple.
Then I cut them into strips and alternated the woods for a striped look, then reglued it. (Sorry, no pictures).
After that dried, I cross cut and again alternated the pieces and reglued.
It was interesting to clamp up 40" and avoid it bowing.

After that dried, I smoothed it out and sanded it, raised the grain, sanded it, and repeat it again.
Then ripped the board, drilled the holes for the pegs and glued the top on. After that dried and was cleaned up, I added the pegs, 31 of them.
Now I'm just waiting for a chance to put the finish on it. Going to go with Danish oil.

Beautiful work!! How did you make the curved cuts on the boards and get them to line up in order to glue them??

        Thanks.
Double sided tape. Stack the boards, then cut with band saw.
