      22 hornet's ammo is $$$$, I would go with the 204

Another vote for the 204 Ruger if narrowing it down from the 3 you chose. You will have many choices in rifles over the .17h and 221fb. If you do not reload, factory ammo availability probably favors the little Ruger round.

I love my 204. Hornady factory ammo shoots great, and I've got reloads that'll thump steel at 500 all day. Plus you can actually stand to shoot it all day!

If you don't hand load, I'd go with the 204 ruger.

If you hand load, look at the 204 ruger, 221 fireball or the 20 Vartag. Do a search on here about the build of a 20 vartag. Very interesting round in which I believe CB has a lot of experience with.

IMO-this is a good excuse to start stuffing your own.

I traded my 17HMR after I got my .204. Reloads are less expensive than 17HMR.

Had a 204 in Ruger SS and sold it a few years ago to a TBH'R...regretted it ever since..great little round that does a job on predators!!

Another vote for the .204 unless you are varmint hunting for hides.

Got to love it, even though mine is over 50 years old.

All the BS talk about the 22 Hornet ammo being too high take a look at Midway right now it's $16.99 for hornady 35 grain V-Max and that's For 25 bullets. 22 hornet is the finest varmint cartridge ever created.

those tiny bores sure get fouled up quick. I'd go 223 and the ammo will be easier to find and easier on the wallet
