Straightforward question. Which do you use, (please include brand) and why?
Shot w/ a tab years ago, then went to wheel bow. After going back to trad 2 years started shooting a glove. Just wondering if I might get a cleaner release going to a tab. Thoughts? |

Tab
I use an old version Saunders Pak-Tab. The new ones are stiffer, and I don’t like them. Luckily, I have a pretty good stash of the old ones. I use a tab because I get a cleaner release with it. Bisch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Bodnick speed glove. Because it works for me and gives great protection for my fingers.

Damascus Shooting Glove. It gives me a good feel for the string. I just don't care for a tab.

The worst thing about a tab is loosing it, dropping it somewhere. They just aren't a natural part of an appendage like having a glove on and going about your business. I shot tabs early in my years but never felt comfortable with them.

I just switched to a yost tab this year. I like it a lot but I did have to wrap mole skin on the metal part to keep it from cutting my face.

I started out with a glove, and used one for many years.
Tried a tab on & off, but never would stick with it. I finally decided one day, that I was going to force myself to use a tab until I got used to it, and see where things went from there. Where did things go? Answer - I can still shoot just fine with a glove, but I wouldn't go back to one, except for in some sort of emergency situation. Rick |

Sorry, I forgot to add the why.
While mostly it is personal preference, in my opinion a tab (a good tab) will give a much better loose of the string, than a glove. The only drawback to using a tab (for some) is they are cumbersome/awkward to do other things when on your finger (like pulling arrows, etc). Once I got used to the tab I never had any problem doing any of those things. I just flip it around to the back of my hand, and do what I need to do. Rick |

This will be a journey in trial and error and personal taste.
I've tried a number of tabs and gloves. I like gloves. I am now shooting a ew Bateman cordovan glove. http://www.ewbateman.com/images/Gloves/XLGCLarge.jpg I love it but it took awhile to break in I also had the strap replaced so that the wrist strap is straight versus angled. Why- I like the way the tip of the glove feels at my anchor point in the corner of my mouth. Before that I shot a neet glove with Cordova sewn over the finger stalls. Duraglove before that. |

Shot a glove for many, many years. Tried numerous tabs during that time. Never could get used to a tab at all. Then I tried Rick Barbee's tab. Liked it but could not get used to it either till I forced myself to give it a real trial period. I did and don't look back now. Rick Barbee's tabs are the real deal for me.

Bateman Cordovan Tab, takes some getting used to, so just spend some time with it and the slick, smooth release of your bowstring will grow on you.

I shot a tab for a good while and still do from time to time, but I prefer a Dura-Glove from 3 Rivers. As said above, the glove is just more comfortable to me.

Eichler, Bates and Neet tabs. Shot gloves but easier to spin tab to back of hand when climbing into tree stands. Hunt to and from the stand as have shot several deer that way.
Just works for me! |

I shoot three under with a Yost cordovan tab... I string walk for 3d and fita.... I shoot a fixed crawl on hunting ilfs and just "regular" three under for non-ilf bows. The Yost tabs essentially have a ruler built into them for making consistent crawls and I can shoot all three styles with the same tab. You also get a more consistent and cleaner release with a tab but I do understand that tabs aren't for everyone.

Tab.
Quit using glove many years ago. I mostly use a modified version on the old Neet palm tab that is now sold by Black Widow. I replace the facing with cordovan. PM me your email and I will send you some pics of the tab, how I wear it to prevent loss, and how it is modified. |

I wear a mechanic's glove with a cheap allen tab. I get the added protection and feel of the glove with a slick tab release.

Started with a glove and now use a Bateman cordovan tab. I also prefer the leather finger cutout over an adjustable finger loop. Not sure why just feels better. My groups instantly improved when I switched from a glove to a tab.

Been shooting a glove for the last couple of years, but purchased a Yost tab about a month ago. Getting some good groups so far, after trimming it down. Gonna practice w/ both and see which gives me better groups.

I use an Alaska Bowhunting Superglove. I don't think they make them anymore. When I found out they were going to stop making them, I stocked up. I like them because they do such a good job of protecting my sensitive finger tips.
I've tried a tab, but I just find them awkward to use. I'm sure I could get used to it, though. |

I'm trying to switch to a tab. It changes my impact points so much it is unreal. However I believe the bow shoots quieter. Sometimes the groups look good then I loose all semblance of control. Frustrating.

Used to shoot with a light nylon glove, until I bumped up from 64# to 67# then a Rick Barbee tab is used to target shoot. Probably go back to nylon gloves and fingers for hunting.
