Because you never know what you are going to see. It takes a hell of a critter to survive in that thick, nasty, sharp brush, and heat!

I just love the critter numbers down there. Plus the overall deer quality seems to be superior to most other parts of the state. That, and for me, it feels like a get away vacation every time I go. Once you get south of Dilley, it pretty much feels like Mexico already. The terrain changes, the brush changes, and the dirt changes color.

I love pretty much everything about south Texas!

I could do without the illegals but it is what it is. As long as you have corn on the senderos, there's no telling what could pop out.

I grew up there. Ran around on some big ranches.

All the different species of wild life and the challenges of getting it done down there with a bow. In one sit you can can see more different animals than some people see in an entire season.

I hunt down south and the first time I hunted the main ranch road at an intersection with a big water trough my wife, daughter, brother and I saw 8 deer, 4 bobcats, 3 coyotes and 8-10 javelina in one afternoon hunt. All were within 150 yards of us. It was amazing!
