How's this for a custom 'smithing job?

Probably just as accurate as any other Ruger. :-). Man, that is a mess. Looks almost like it was brazed instead of welded.

impeccable craftsmanship , only thing different I would have done is use nyloc nuts on the rings

Perfection at it's finest, SW Arkansas smith?

lol, desperate times call for desperate measures. I've killed a ton of animals with one like it, but its still ugly, clunky, and terribly inaccurate.

That's how you can tell it's not just another garage job I might have used box tubing for a little more rigidity, but we're just nit picking at that point.

How to ruin the heat treat on your action in 1 easy step:

                  1. Weld anything to it.

Also, I dig the 8" above bore axis. Wonder what kind of arc that shoots.

Ruin!? That's stainless filler rod. Attention to detail not seen since...yesterday, in south Austin, on a 92 Chevy. Actually they blended it a little better. But it was close

I think the professional term is "hand mill"

I saw someone do this with JB WELD. They could not find a mount that would fit their action so they literally JB WELDed a mount to the top of their rifle.

Then they wondered why the accuracy was crap.
