Are these pictures of some kind of modern day Alamo reenactment?

I'm glad to see you don't take it too seriously, BBQ and a costume party at the range make it even more fum. Just need to add a bikini car wash and you'd be set.

Lots of hood looking iron on the firing line.

I don't have a problem with a few beers, as long as it's not a public range (I'm guessing no), and no one gets stupid.

It's time for Friday at the the range. Who is making it to the range this fine Friday? I can't, so here is the video from last week.

Check out the 100 yard Pistol shots with GemTech subsonic and an old SWR Spectre.

The Anschutz 22 with a spectre and savage 22 with my AAC Element were hitting the 2" steel plate at 100 yards with boring regularity. The GemTech subsonic is simply consistently accurate for us.

We also had the POF p-415 with the Primary Arms Platinum 1-8x, gemtech Trek Ti, rifles only HAD cover and HOG saddle.

I caught some video of unsuppressed muzzle blast from an AAC Muzzle Brake. Hopefully, James' m4-2000 is approved soon.

418Plates supplied the steel.

I knew a group a guys that shot a skeet league on thursdays nights for years. They regularly took top honors and 3 of the 5 easily drank 6 cold beers before and on the way to the range. Not hard to enjoy a beverage and still have a good time, safely

That is sure a first for me! Now im pumped to start working up a load for the gun and streatching her out some!

Friday at the range. www.TexasGunTrust.com engaged in some post 41F shooting. Testing GemTech and RWS. 22lr ammo in a variety of .22s. Brought the gen set, fans and shade. Also brought the surefire SOCOM556RC on a 18" AR. 418Plates provided thevsteel.

We used an AAC Element on the Anschutz and Savage 22s. No perceptible difference in POI.

The RWS .22 is more consistent than the GemTech. It is also more expensive as would be expected.

Setting up Honda genset turning the fans in the 97f heat at the IZ!

Anschutz with AAC Element II

One of my early AR15s with an IOR and a legacy MagPul stock pretty UBR. Anyone remember that one?

Surefire SOCOM556RC

It's in a Hog saddle.

My Savage .22 with a Vortex vipers PST 6-24 FFP

Seiko Emperor Tuna and a LA Flor Dominicana to celebrate the fact that ATF41F isn't silencerGeddon

I'm on the Anschutz, enjoying the RWS ammo and GemTech subsonic consistency

The Honda GenSet FTW! Best idea of the day!

Cow Break! Time for a break to rehydrate, relax, enjoy the cigar and wait first the herd to pass.

Greater Tuna and another LA Flor Dominicana

POF P-415 GemTech Trek Ti IR Hunter Mk2

Confirming zero on the IR Hunter mk2. My 6 year old shooting the 200 yard pig. It was his first time shooting a Centerfire rifle and 2nd time shooting the 200 yard pig.

Taccom3g. 22lr upper on Polymer lower with AAC Element

Using the Sig ECO I let's me see what my 6 year old is aiming at and discuss it with him.

My 6 year old shooting his great grandfather's. 22 Savage that I learned to shoot on. He finally figured it all out. 50yrd steel pig, 100 yard steel pig, 150yd steel coyote and 200 yard steel pig. All pinged for him.

A Primary Arms 4-14 mildot and a Hog saddle makes it easier than when I was learning.

Friday Gun ****: Met some friends at the Bayou Rifles Addicks Range for syne much needed lead therapy. The forecast called for lots of rain, wind and dropping temperatures. Being Houston, we got all three. It was brutal cold. I think it went into the 50s.

I brought the Taccom 3g .22 upper and the Nordic Components. 22 upper with the IR Hunter MKIII 60mm on it put some rounds through the Dead Air Mask HD through its paces. I also brought the Glock 17 with an Advantage Arms .22 kit to see how the Mask sounded. The Mask HD had no perceptible FRP.

That's not to say that the other cans didn't sound his. The Element 2 and the Spectre 2 that we shot today sounded great. The Mask HD is just the latest generation of. 22 cans.

The watch is a special Seiko 6139-6005 Pogue Chronograph from February 1971. The Ammo was Gemtech subsonic.

not yesterday, but we got some range time last friday!

Disclaimer: This pic was taken after we had fired the gun. He had on eye protection when firing, but didnt like to keep them on afterward. He wouldnt remove the ear muffs though! Mama wanted a photo op, and whatever mama wants, she usually gets!

Gun is a colt frontier scout in 22lr. It belonged to my grandfather and was the first pistol my mom, uncle, brother, sister, myself, and now my son ever shot. Hopefully I can pass it down to him when he is old enough!

SC , what are your thoughts on the Sig Echo1, have you had it long and used it much.
At that price point of thermals is it a good option?
