    DIY Auxiliary phone/usb charger

I wanted to share this charger I made to use while hunting and camping with out power. I plan on adding a solar charger to it soon.

Right now I use my trickle charger that I use for my boat battery but I'm planning on adding a solar charger.

They make these little things now....you can charge anything with a usb cord. I have charged my iPhone from 10% battery or less to 100% 5 times and it still shows 80% charge.

I have one that's a little bigger than that. I can charge it 8-10 times with my big charger.

That's a great idea, Shake nBake. I like it. Would a marine battery work?

Thanks! Yeah that would probably would be the best option because marine batteries are deep cell!

Please do a long term update. I'd like to know how many charges you get per cycle. Will it charge a laptop?

I need to do a test and see how many phone charges I can get out of it. I'm guessing it would be 50+.
It will charge anything that charges through usb. I'm not sure if any laptops are capable of this?

There is plenty of room in that box so you could add a 110V inverter to run a small fan for those warm months in the box blind, or to charge a laptop possibly....depending on components you selected as well as your laptop and battery.

Very true! I haven't thought of that but I will have to do some research.
