Now that is always the question and I don't know that anyone can give a true definite answer. To many variables But from studies and testing if you don't shoot a good cut on contact head I would want to be above .5 But people kill all the time in the mid .2. Look what people do everyday with low draw bows. And most of them are only in the .3 range

If you read ashby he said 100% bone breach at .57 with a 650 gr arrow. But I've had hogs stop arrows in the .57 range with 550 gr arrows

For me to give an answer it would be shoot the heaviest arrow your comfortable with.
