We Bought a Home and Property - “Tres Hijas!”

The layout of the barndo was fairly simple - 40x80 structure with 18’ peak of building.

Inside the building was a 40x40 living area, with 8’ ceilings throughout, with the entire living area roof decked.

From the front view, where there is porch is living quarters and where no porch is the shop.

The first step for the remodel was to raise the roof (whoop whoop! - we cant say it without doing the hand gesture! LOL!) for what was the living room to create 10’ ceiling AND extending the wall 10’ into the shop for additional space (adding 400 sq ft. Of living area)

The framers made short work of that project while we were traveling over Christmas.

They removed the exterior door from what was entry from shop to living room and moved it over to enter what is now a mud/utility room/bulk pantry. From that room will be a cased opening into the living room, which can be closed off with a sliding barn door.

The 10’ ceiling and 10’. Extension of the living room (which actually will be utilized to add a dining area between kitchen and LR) made a HUGE difference in the space!
