Not sure if the answer is going to be well received.....just got word from the bank that all is approved on a deal to add some more ground to the east side of the ranch that includes some really nice barns and a older home.

Kind of a bitter sweet addition.....with the cabin and the trailer house in place and all the work to get it where it is, I don't see how the house will ever be as special as what we have built. But hey....move a wall here and there raise the ceiling height, then add a pool table, bar, few neon signs in the barn and we might be able to make it work.
Awesome! Keep us up to date on that as well.

Default Fridge for the cabin

I've been looking for a fridge for the cabin. My neighbor had one in a garage sale cheap.
Thought I would try something a little different with it.

Well things are green and the editions to the ranch is pretty awesome(other than I have another yard to mow).

Shade trees in the front yard are priceless! A carport is kind of cool too......

Default Got a little bit done at the Harahey this weekend

Got the carpet in the living room of the cabin.
Went over and checked out the new house and barns.
Met a few new additions to the ranch.

Had to do coon patrol. Found about 100 lbs of protein under one of the feeders. I think we got the culprits.

The deer are hitting the protein HARD. 1000 Lb. feeders emptied in two weeks.

Set up a feeder and camera on the new place.

LOL. Its going to be worth it. Hopefully we can offset the cost this year.
When are you and Brett coming out? We got plenty of room.
Lets plan a hog hunt. Its pretty fun to do at night with the high rack.

Default Great year at the Harahey

We had a great season this year. Ronny and I didn't get to hunt as much as we would've liked. I think we are going to have to hire a guide to free up our time. I was fortunate enough to take my biggest buck this year. We had several hunters take their first deer this year. It is always exciting to be part of that.
Our management hunters went 100% for shot opportunities for mature bucks with a bow.
We plan to get back to ranching stuff as soon as the season ends and I will update the thread a little more often.

Here are a few of the pictures from this year.

I believe Ron picked them up from a company that sells used poultry farm equipment in NE Texas. I will PM him and get him to send you a PM or answer your post.

Acker Poultry Supply in Pittsburg. I cant remember if they are 8 or 10 ton units but they were $750+/- each cant remember what the auger system was but it seems like $1000

Now if we could just find someone to pay for filling them.....

Sure have enjoyed following your progress. I hope that you'll include more pictures of the addition...the barn the house, that's pretty cool stuff.

I like the cabin, very well done; you all have skills.

Keep it coming; it's a hoot to read and see.

It has been a while since we updated any progress on the ranch.
We added a concrete slab and an electric winch for hanging animals. I will update progress pics when I get back on Monday.
