I rented a ditch machine on tracks from home Depot for $169 and it was a beast. It was the biggest machine they had and worked awesome. Took 15 minutes for septic and 15 minutes for water lines to well house.

Default A few Pics from this weekend

Millman made a trip out to the ranch this weekend.
Looks like we got PLENTY of rain.

Ron and I will be hunting it for the first time this weekend while Elkaholic and BrettC chase elk in Colorado.

I will post up some pics from the blind.

Electric is on, AC unit up and running, new ceiling fan hung in living room(even hung a couple pictures on the wall), temporary water in place, water well spotted and waiting on driller, storage container deliver(just need to get it set in the right place...) 3 more stands up leaving 4 to go.....fixed 5 MORE feeders(why does it take so much to get them all right)...... and 12 TC's on and working.

With only a hand full of feeders working steady since 8/14 we really have no mature deer hitting feeders. Not to mention everything greener than a southern golf course in late spring I am not sure if they are just not going to hit a new feeder or if they just don't feel the urge yet.

Either way....one pig down!

Great weekend at the ranch.
The last picture is of a deer still in velvet. I got a pretty good look at him/it and didn't see any juevos. Could this be a doe???

man she made me so proud! all the mornings driving me nuts being a girl getting ready for school(as slow as humanly possible....), the years of dolls, painting nails and the carpet, the trips to girls clothing stores that nearly killed me.....all washed away with such a simple question.

Default More progress

Another busy weekend.

We trenched around 400 ft. and laid electrical lines for the storage container, skinning rack and outdoor kitchen. Not an easy task in that rocky soil.

Moved the storage container into position.

Added a sheet metal overhang to house the skinning rack and walk in cooler.

We still managed to get some hunting in.

Three more pigs down and some really nice deer were seen. It is shaping up to be an interesting season!

Next on the list. Ron is going to finish the roof for the deck. Going to hang lights inside the container as well as under the skinning shed.
Walk-in cooler going in.
