Plastic Boat Hatches Discolored? Can I Paint?

I replaced all of my boat patches with five new boat patches last year from Amazon.

After sitting in storage through deer season the hatches are discolored a yellowish tent instead of the bright white that they were.

    Anyone ever experience this?

I really do not want to replace all the hatches but it looks really odd on my boat.

    Can I paint these?

If so what kind of paint?

Also what kind of prep do I need to do?

I believe they make rattle can paint that is made for painting plastic. I would remove them, clean very very well, wipe with acetone, and give them a good coat. Worst case scenario is it doesn’t work and then just buy new ones.

Side note: I thought you ran a SCB?

Swimming pool (muriatic) acid will whiten them right up. Then use some 303 or other protection. This works for plastic pool fixtures anyway.

Please don't put acetone on plastic.

Yeah I wasn’t sure on the acetone thing, just thinking how I prep pretty much anything to paint. Definitely would do my research first. Maybe just scuffing with a Brillo pad then painting.
