Best time of year to fish around Port Aransas?

Gonna be booking a guide for a fly fishing trip for me and my dad for 2020. Wondering what the best time of year is for fly fishing for red fish?

Grew up in Hawaii so familiar fishing salt but have never fished TX salt other than Galveston. I’m leaning towards early oct unless someone has better advice, thanks!

Now is not an option with his and my work schedule. We both travel a lot so it’s got to be next year to make it work

Hard to beat the coast in October.
Spring can be great, but often windy as hell. Upper Laguna would be a great choice just south of Port A

Yep when the shrimp start dumping out of back bays in October

I agree October is when the Reds start schooling up pretty good. Although April and May are good too if our spring winds are deminished by then.
