Default Karma = Lost job. Missed many an opportunity to keep her trap Shut. TBH LEO's??

Didn't see where this had been posted & apologies if it has.

Let's please not go down the political rabbit hole as this attitude is certainly not exclusive to any one party affiliation. Was hoping to hear some similar TBH LE instances for entertainment purposes only. Please do share some war stories if you got'm!!

I'm not really sure how you guys & gals deal with such nonsense...would have been real simple to just ask the kids (adults) instead of the lame attempt to treat the officers as your vent / verbal punching bag.

I bet she was making some decent jack with the Port Authority!!

", Turner's daughter had been pulled over on Route 9W by Tenafly, N.J., police, but allegedly could not provide proof of insurance or registration. So Turner was called to the scene to help resolve the matter"

Looks like LEO was more than accommodating by allowing the girls parent, even though she was an adult, to drive over there with her insurance card.

One word can describe that lady!

Oh, I'm willing to wager there is dash cam vid/vids of arrogant conservatives out there too...it's the brazen lack of respect for LE with such a petty issue that is so irritating.

4 PhD students at MIT couldn't remember to keep their insurance and vehicles registration current?

What I find to be worse is the coddling by this woman of the adults. They made a mistake, and the driver has to deal with the consequences but many times, it's the LEO's fault, not the driver. This and her blatant disrespect for the LEO's doing their job.

She deserved to lose her job. Surprised she didn't take a ride for interfering. That's a thing right?

The daughter was just a passenger in the backseat. She had nothing to do with the stop, as the cops mentioned it in the video. The daughter called Turner, even though she seemingly had no relation with the driver. They were definitely very accommodating though, and far more kind than I would have been after a few minutes of listening to that.

Killed her with kindness! I'm near certain I would have left her flashing her business card on the side of the road. 'Mam Ive already explained the situation to each of the adults in the car. Now I have more citizens waiting on services, have nice day'

The last time I was cursed at was by an employee of a side job. She got caught stealing money. I offered to arrest her and the owner was happy with her being escorted off the property. As she opened her car door she started calling me beaches and hoes etc. Then claimed she was coming back blastin and went back to name calling pig etc. I thanked her and said Id been called better by worse. She left

Rich, White, Entitled........wait a second...... The Left has those too?

Her mentality certainly crosses both sides of the political spectrum, but it's more hypocritical coming from their base positions. In the end, the proper outcome was sustained, she gone. I don't know why her daughter was afforded the opportunity to have her mother "bring" her proper license and registration to begin with. Should have issued her a citation and moved down the road.

She was NOT a police officer. Lets just make that clear. But I digress......

You asked for stories. Back around 1995-96 I stopped a guy for going 90'ish down the Hwy in a brand new high end Mercedes, at 3 in the am.

I didn't even make out of my squad when I could see him leaning out of his window. I quickly realized he was MF'ing me, and asking what the F did I stop him for, etc, etc. Family site so I cant say what else he was calling me as I walked up. But after doing the job couple years at that point, I was used to it.

Anyway, I get up to the car. Guy is still cussing me and hands me his Law Licences (Bar card). Told him that it looked nice, handed it back and asked for his DL. I did notice all the gold chains, Rolex and the fake tan. Guy was mid 50's and about 5-4 220...Not that I was judging or anything. Just being observant...

More cussing, more "do you know who your F'ing with, etc etc".

He informes me that he's the city attorney for a town near the one I worked. He was the guy who prosecuted the traffic violators. lol

So back up arrives, he's still losing his mind. And probably a little upset Im not taking the bait. So I run him just to be sure before writing out the ticket, and low and behold.....

The greatest sound in the world came out of my radio from dispatch. "Is your radio secure".

Yep, he had some traffic warrants for unpaid tickets from DPS. So we make our way to jail. More cussing, more hes gonna have me fired stuff, etc. Put him in the cell and turn his phone on so he can make a call.

As im sitting in the report room, I could hear him on the phone, whispering. "Hey I thought you paid those tickets I got last year on that duck hunting trip". Well you didn't Im sitting in jail". I just giggled and kept typing my arrest report.

I have had many, many MANY more since then. But that's still one of my favorites from back in the day.

Very professionally handled by the officers.
This sort of thing has been happening as long as there has been authority to appeal to-- and probably most of us have tried it in some form or another in our lives. It's been a very successful strategy for many, whether it's officers looking the other way to "protect their own" or succumbing to bullying like this lady was trying to pull off.
She was probably doing the best she could... most of us are.

Blows my mind. She totally expected the officers to pack it up when she provided her credentials. Her daughter too obviously. She wasn't even the one pulled over. It wasn't her car getting towed but still, "Let me call my mom. She'll get us out of it."

I donít think this has anything to do with politics - itís typical of many public/entitled people. They exist in equal numbers on both sides of the isle and in far greater numbers than anyone would care to admit. Those officers showed way more restraint than most and Iím guessing a lot of that was the result of apprehension over how much sway she might actually have over someone senior to them. They did the right thing, imo.

Nothing surprises me anymore with NO ONE. The last azzs reaming I had was for pulling a "Pastors wife" over for going 16 over the speed limit. Cool little car had the dove, fish etc on the trunk.

She laid into to me and of course gave me so many words used in hell I had never even heard before. Made a believer out of me that anyone and even the few chosen can be nothing more then hypocrites.

This is just another shining example. Officers did good in this and just watched her as she being privileged spoke her mind. Sometimes I can just watch a person melt as I will let them speak and it just infuriates them even more that I do not engage.

Yes, she was way over board and it was a clear abuse of power.
But let me ask this?
How many here have shown a mini badge or PBA card because of kin on the job, and have been the recipient of a officers discretion? I know I have.
Not saying she should have gotten away with this. But that is most likely what she was looking for... officers discretion.
But since the wheels might have been already put into motion with tow truck coming to impound non registered vehicle, and called in incident on road shoulder. So that cop could have been on the hook if he did not follow through.
She may have been a Port Authority commissioner, but they give out that badge to basically office people(top execs, but pencil pushers) who have never been through the academy or had to deal with the public.
