New to the forum and just getting back into bow hunting. Used to hunt years ago, had a few opportunities and several misses, but not any success.
Well, this past Halloween, I arrowed my first deer.
Sat most of the morning in the rain and fighting off mosquitoes. Had several small bucks, does and yearlings come and go, but nothing to shoot. Texted my buddy HTDUCK at 9:00 to come get me, I had enough.
Sitting there waiting, thought what the heck, grabbed my rattle bag and just did a sparring routine. It wasn't 5 minutes later, this guy came around the corner headed right at me. Got to 20 yds, looked around, up at me, then jumped into the feeder pen. I let the bolt fly at 15 yds and he crumbled up at less than 50 yds.
Forgot how addicting bow hunting could be and will now extend my deer season by a few months!
