One thing is for sure paying $7500 for a guided elk hunt on a private ranch has proven to not be as much as an advantage over doing it yourself public land in Colorado. Congrats on the draw and good luck to you!

I appreciate all the well wishes. We just stopped to eat at dq in Clayton, NM. Ten miles out of Texas and everything including dq is different lol. Back on the road shortly.

Good luck! an elk hunt is in my future but just don't know when yet! Have a blast, any time spent with family hunting is time well spent!

Spent a good deal of time as a youth staying at Freemans almost every summer w family. Have hunted that unit before it was a draw and hunted 3 times after it became a draw unit. My favorite place to hunt Elk. I am hoping to make it one more time before I am to darn old. Enjoy the hunt and best of luck.

I ate at that DQ in Clayton, NM on Monday on my way back from a hunt. Never again...
