Killed 4 in the last month at my place.

6 year old boy got his boots out of the closet and put them on.
Bit 3 times.

I talked to an old east TX doctor who told me that most of the black widow bites he’s seen all came early in his career, and MANY were the result of outhouses whereby guys would get bit on the scrotum. I bout lost my cookies at the thought, but it makes sense when you think about it.

My old man got bit by one. We were at the house, and he started yelling for me to come help him. As I rounded the corner he had his shirt off and said something was biting him on his back. Right in the crease of his back was a black widow. I knocked it off and killed it. Dad was like "well, let see what we do from here." Mom contacted the doctor she worked for and he told her to give it a few minutes. A black widow is like a rattlesnake in that sometimes they dont release venom. He said you'll know pretty quick. A few hours go by and nothing was showing, so pops went to bed. That was that.

My Dad got bitten once years ago. He said it hurt like heck but he never went to the doctor and he lived.

Had two close calls in the last week. One was in a gate operator i was working on and back near the motor where i was blindly sticking my hand. The other was in a chair on our porch at the deer lease. I took it out saturday morning to dove hunt and saw it. Crazy thing is a buddy was sitting in it the night before!

I had a deer stand blow over in Runnels Co. and a friend and I picked it back up and I climbed in it to straighten things up. When my eyes grew accustomed to the light I saw black widows everywhere. They didn't seem agitated, I had leather gloves on, so I started killing them. First, I checked overhead and under the seat. After that, it was a matter of just grabbing them and mashing them. Some I mashed with a flat piece of wood that was laying in the blind. I killed 14 black widows in that blind.

I've killed 3 in my shop and another 6 in my well house (attached to my shop), in the last week.

My exterminator says I have spiders because I don't weed eat around the barn good enough. I think I'll relieve him of his duties and get some Demon, and spray it all myself.

Konnor is always playing out and around there. I can't chance him getting bit.
